trout fishing in the river Isere at Bourg st Maurice The following rivers are well populated with brown trout and are all accessible by foot,
or public bus from our chalet in Bourg st Maurice:

* Haute Isere in Bourg-St-Maurice
* No Kill in Seez
* St Claude
* Haute Isère in Centron
* Haute Isère in Savine

They are all at altitudes of 800m to 1750m
The temperature is between 8 to 12°
Maximum depth 5m, and width 35m

The bed of the rivers are made up of large boulders and gravel, and the water is over hung by leafy trees (Beeches, Birches, Alders and Ashes). There is good bio diversity including water insects (Transitory, Trichoptères, Dipterous) and terrestrial insects (coleopters, grasshoppers) and the water is crystal clear and well oxegenated.

We are also within a short drive or bus trip of fresh water lakes at Tignes, the Lac de la Sassière and Plan d'eau de Barouchat.

Chillchalet is the perfect place to stay for your fishing holiday in the Alps because:

  1. We have a secure storage room at ground floor level underneath the chalet to keep your equipment secure.
  2. We are a few minutes walk from the river and small lake and a bus trip to many other fishing areas.
  3. There is a fishing shop a few metres away where you can get any equipment you may need.
  4. Our rooms have heated rails and hooks for drying out wet clothes.
  5. We can arrange for a van to drive you to good routes in the area if you would rather not bring your car.
  6. We can arrange for an experienced guide to show you the good spots, or book you on to a fly fishing course.
  7. We can provide very early or packed breakfasts, packed lunches, and high energy evening meals.
