The Paradiski is probably the easiest and largest area to get to in the Alps, there are direct train services from London Kings Cross and a quick two hours from four major airports, not to mention main roads all the way into the valley. You can get here by train, car, plane, or coach

By train. back to list...

There are direct services to this area from London Kings Cross, Ashford, Lille and Paris. To get to our chalet in Montchavin in La Plagne you get off at Landry or Bourg St Maurice stations. It is then a 10 minute taxi to the chalet, which can arrange for you if you let us know your arrival times when you book. If you are heading to Les Arcs and are staying at our chalet in Bourg it is even easier becausee we are just a few minutes walk from the station.

The new high speed link across London and Kent has cut the journey down to 7 hours 20 minutes and it is getting cheaper all the time, especially if you travel outside peak times and avoid Saturdays. If you are willing to get up early you can get a return journey from London for under £100. You can also travel overnight, allowing you to go up the mountain on your arrival and departure day. It is also the most environmentally friendly option which is worth considering if we want to continue enjoying the mountains.

By car. back to list...

If you are bringing lots of large equipment like snowboards, bikes or canoes this is definately your best option because airlines charge a fortune in excess for large items, and insurance companies often charge premiums if expensive equipment is being taken on a plane. It takes between 12 and 15 hours depending on your vehicle and if there are a few of you it can be the cheapest way to travel.

French motorways are quiet and it is well worth paying the 25Ü or so it costs to take the toll roads because they are much quicker. Avoid Saturdays though because that is when package holiday companies transport all their guests and the traffic is hellish.

By plane. back to list...

We are about two hours drive from Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble airports and just over an hour from Chambery. Because we charge by the night you will be able to take advantage of cheap off peak flights. This will also save you money on your transfer from the airport because they all charge a bit less during the week and on Sundays. If you would like us to arrange your transfer for you just let us know when you book.

By coach. back to list...

If you can handle the overnight journey, coming by coach is by far the cheapest way of getting to us, about £45 return. It also means you can go up the mountain on your arrival and departure days and is more environmentally friendly than flying.
